We understand that as your child grows their personality shines through more and more, it seems that you blink and they have grown up a little more. They aren’t babies any more and you want to capture every precious moment to look back on in the future.

We suggest a range of ages for you to come along for a children’s photoshoot session to truly document your child’s development. Here are a few ideas:

Six months plus portraits - sitting, rolling, playing

This is such a lovely time in your child’s life. Let us work with you to capture the perfect portrait of your little one sitting up unaided and interacting with you in their own special way. It’s the perfect time for you to capture those infant smiles and reactions to you.

Your photographs can be captured against a simple colour backdrop or you can have fun with our tailor made studio props to add even more character to your portraits.

First birthday photoshoot

When your child turns one year old it’s a celebration of your first year as a parent and their first year of life. You may be wondering where the time went and feeling in awe of how much your baby has changed and grown. A first birthday portrait is the perfect opportunity to capture this milestone in your child’s development. Whether they are crawling coasting or even taking their first steps it’s such a wonderful and adventurous time for them. We love to capture their mischievous moments, special smiles and let their blossoming personality shine through.

First birthday portrait sessions are a great chance to have fun with your little one whilst creating wonderful memories to look back on for years to come. You can play around with our fun studio props and backdrops to create the perfect shots to capture their personality – why not add a cake smash session on to the end of your portrait session to really let them have a ball!

Toddler to Teen photoshoot

From toddler to teen, we love to capture everything in between! Planning regular portrait sessions for your child or children will mean that you have a beautiful range of photographs at each stage of their lives. Each year that goes by is a new chapter in their development, personality and interests. We love to help you to reflect that in our session – freezing a special moment in a photographic memory is our speciality and something we are passionate about.
You can choose to incorporate your child’s hobbies and interests into the photography. For example you can bring along their favourite dancing outfit, sports kit, brownie outfit or props from their favourite pastime. Your session will be totally personalised to you and we want you to enjoy yourselves. Choose from a range of coloured backdrops, in house props and photography styles. You will be given plenty of time for outfit changes and theme changes.

What to expect from your Children's photoshoot

You will have exclusive use of our photography studio for you children’s photoshoot session. There will always be time to take a break if needed too as we realise that some children may find focusing for a length of time a little overwhelming!
Bring along any props that you would like to use to further personalise your photography experience or choose from lots of items from our own childrens photoshoot range. You should also bring along your child’s favourite toy to keep them happy and relaxed – anything that reflects your child or your family.
Your session is just for you so we can also capture some family shots if you would like – you can even bring along your pet!

Your Viewing Session

After your children’s photoshoot session we will arrange a mutually convenient time for you to return to the studio to view the photographs, usually around one week later. Your viewing takes place in our private gallery room where you can relax and enjoy viewing your images as a slideshow. You can choose to bring your family members along with you so that you can make decisions together.

You will be given plenty of time to decide on your favourite photographs and how they can best be displayed around your home – we have endless options for prints, mounts and frames so we can offer the perfect choice for everyone. Our multi aperture frames work particularly well for children’s photographs as you can show lots of their moods and expressions in one piece.

We are always on hand with advice to help you to create an outstanding piece of art for your home or the perfect gift for a loved one.

You will be able to choose from our wide range of professional wall products, such as frames, canvases, fine art float frames, glass free photo panels and prints to create personal pieces of art for around your home. You can choose from single or multi aperture layouts in a huge variety of colours and styles. The range of options mean that your finished piece will be truly bespoke and perfectly complement your images and home interior.

Our in house printing and framing service allows you to create a bespoke product. All of our products are printed and hand crafted in house using real wood, acid free mounts and Giclee fine art prints by our highly trained craftsmen.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to book my children’s photoshoot session?

Anytime! Many of our customers come back at different milestones of their child’s life from birth, crawling, first steps, new brother or sister or beyond! Once you have decided to book your photo session just get in touch – we can usually fit you in within two or three weeks. If you have a younger child maybe choose a time of day that they are usually awake and alert. It’s also important to consider when the rest of your family area available if you would like to capture family or sibling shots too

How long will my Children’s photoshoot last?

Your child’s photoshoot will usually last up to one hour. However we never rush you so we are happy to work at your child’s pace. We recommend that you allow 90 minutes when coming along with a child under 5 years old.

You could also bring a wooden or colourful plastic spoon in case your child doesn’t enjoy the feeling of the cake on their hands.

Don’t forget to bring plenty of wet wipes, a towel and a spare set of clothes for yourself as well as your child – you never know how messy your cake smash photoshoot may get!
You can bring along anything you like that will make the session more personal to you and your child.

Are siblings and parents included in the children photoshoot?

Of course! You’re welcome to bring along family members and we are always happy to start your children’s photoshoot with a family portrait. We actually recommend this as it’s a very useful way to encourage your child to settle into our studio studio environment. This means that we will achieve the best results when it’s time to photograph them without parents.
