What to expect from your baby photoshoot

When you book your Cake Smash photoshoot we will talk you through everything that you need to bring along with you, such as the cake, changes of clothes and accessories.

On the day you will be welcomed into the studio and we will begin with a chat about your ideas for the session – we have lots of inspiration for you if you need a hand! We will then move onto your short family photoshoot on a plain background and capture some perfect shots of your family whilst your little one settles into the studio. Next we will change our photo set to your chosen Cake Smash theme whilst you get your child into their cake smash outfit – you’re also welcome to bring along personal items including your cake to add to our exclusively designed photo set. Why not bring your child’s favourite (wipe clean) toy?

Your little one is guaranteed to have a smashing time during their Cake Smash photoshoot and this means we will capture some cheeky and adorable happy photos that your whole family will be able to treasure forever.

Your little one may love the taste of cake but not the texture, others may love the mess – this is all part of the fun of a Cake Smash photoshoot and will capture your child’s personality at their one year milestone birthday.

How important are those early years…

And probably no more than the first 18 months of a new babies development.

We have put together a package for those that want to extend the newborn photoshoot experience especially to capture the development of baby from newborn to toddler.

Your watch me grow package offers you four, one- two hour portrait sessions to capture you baby as they grow into a toddler.

1st portrait session – Enjoy a Newborn photoshoot experience.

Your newborn portrait experience should be taken in the first few days of your baby arriving, we recommend no later than three weeks after birth. Your newborn portrait experience will last up to two hours allowing time to settle and feed your baby during the session. Both family and newborn portraits will be offered within this time.

2nd portrait session – Enjoy a sitter portrait session when your baby is 6 months old.

The six month portrait experience will capture all the little developments and changes that your baby has made since the newborn session. As your baby is now getting stronger they will be able to hold themselves up in a more seated position. Both family and baby portraits will be offer during the session.

3 portrait session – Enjoy a portrait session the celebrate your child turning 1 years old.

The first year is a land mark of celebration, enjoy a family portrait followed by a fun filled experience with your one year old, you can also make this session a cake smash experience.

Cake smash experience, enjoy the the fun and laughter of your little one as they smash there birthday cake, you will need to bring a long a cake for this experience the studio will provide the set.

4th portrait session– Enjoy a portrait experience celebrating your baby becoming a toddler.

The fourth session should be taken around when your baby becomes 18 months old. Enjoy a fun filled experience capturing the fun and laughter of your toddler as they move and play. Both family and toddler portrait will be offer during this session.

Your Viewing Session

After each of your watch me grow photoshoots we will arrange a mutually convenient time for you to return to the studio to view your photographs – usually in around a weeks time.

Your viewing will take place in our private gallery room where you can relax and enjoy viewing your images as a slideshow.

You can bring your family members along with you so that you can make decisions together. You will be given plenty of time to decide on your favourite photographs and how they can best be displayed around your home – we have endless options for prints, mounts and frames so we can offer the perfect choice for everyone.

We are always on hand with advice to help you to create an outstanding piece of art for your home or the perfect gift for a loved one.

Frequently asked questions

When should I book my Baby Photoshoot

You can book a baby photoshoot as soon as you are ready. We allow spaces in our calendar each week for these sessions as they obviously can’t be booked too far in advance. All we ask is for you to call us when baby has arrived so that we can book your photo session for the following week

What should I bring with me to my Baby Photoshoot?

Try to choose baby outfits that fit your baby well and bring spare clothes and wipes in case of accidents. Plus anything that is personal to them or they have a love for. These are what will make your images very personal.

How long will my n baby photoshoot last?

Your session will last for up to two hours, this allows plenty of time in an unrushed environment to make sure we capture those special images.

I contacted Studio 1 via their website regarding a newborn photoshoot. Emma contacted me less than 24 hours from enquiring and a shoot was organised for when my baby was 10 days old. Both Emma and Ashley were very friendly and welcoming.

On arrival, the studio was clean and modern but with a rustic feel. I hate having my photo taken but Ashley made me feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera.

I am very pleased with the final product and so happy that I chose Studio 1 to capture those precious memories. They offer a excellent quality service at very reasonable prices.

After a recent visit to the studio for a photo session. We were greeted by a young lady with a friendly and helpful attitude and great smile. We were offered drinks and made to feel welcome why we relaxed and awaited our session.

The session was really professional and the photographer did really well to engage and entice my children to be natural and amazing. The pictures were processed and edited it a swift and professional manner and upon our return the viewing was conducted professionally and in a smart setting, must note loved the use of the tv to view the images on.

The wide selection of images made choosing almost impossible. Highly recommend and will be visiting again soon. Thank you.

Had two different photoshoots done by Ash and been really pleased each time first was a family one at the studio and 2nd was just recently of mine and my new hubby’s wedding day. The studio is lovely and feels so relaxed. Ash is just amazing at what he does, easy to get along with and you can tell he loves his job.
